Using a foam roller the wrong way can mess up your back [Video]

Some of the exercises you try to make your back pain go away could actually hurt it more. Care2 recently looked at the incorrect ways to use a foam roller. Despite how simple a roller looks, using it the wrong way can cause problems.

Don’t place the roller directly on the lower back,¬†or roll on the same spot for too long. At the same time, avoiding any possible sources of pain during rolling could also be a bad sign.

However, in the right circumstances, a roller could be useful for back pain sufferers. Men’s Health said that a roller can treat upper and lower back pain, as well as pain in the heels.
